Ayesha
In the “Caps for Sale” series Ayesha (I-ee-sha) lives near the center of town with her mom and a baby brother. She is nine years old. Ayesha is optimistic, energetic, intelligent, and makes friends easily. Her best friends are Billie and Rose Petal, and sometimes Jack.
Ayesha is very much a book worm. She spends hours at the library choosing books to take out and read just about anywhere. She enjoys mystery and adventure stories but also books on science.
Ayesha’s mom is teaching her how to sew and Ayesha already knows how to make a cloth bag using needle and thread. Someday soon, her mom will teach her how to use the sewing machine.
Although Ayesha’s mom has a cat, she recently allowed Ayesha to adopt a dog. Ayesha named him Spotty.
Ayesha’s character and image comes from from Esphyr’s storybook, “Behind the Dark Window Shade.” (Picture on the left.) In that story she was named “Judy,” but we have chosen to rename her in the “Caps for Sale” series.
